Tierra Valentine | Legal Support Services | Investigator
Tierra Valentine is a licensed investigator with Oregon Justice Resource Center. She was born and raised in the suburbs of Portland, Oregon, and graduated from Portland State University with a Bachelor of Science. After college, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her artistic passions. Tierra has always had an interest in forensic sciences as well as the legal system, so when a veteran criminal defense investigator unexpectedly offered to train her, she jumped at the opportunity.
Tierra moved back to Portland to begin training and was officially licensed as a private investigator in 2016. In the past six years, she has investigated dozens of serious felony and Measure 11 cases, both in adult and juvenile court; numerous of which have resulted in dismissal of charges or acquittal at trial. It wasn’t long after beginning her work within the criminal justice system that Tierra realized just how infrequently true justice is served. It was quickly evident that the scales are grossly imbalanced, and our communities are suffering as a result. It has always been her goal to amplify the voice of her clients and advocate fiercely on their behalf.
Tierra strongly believes that ending mass incarceration and increasing public services and accessibility are crucial steps in healing our communities. She is driven by her passion to provide assistance to incarcerated individuals and their families, and she spends most of her time these days working on post conviction relief and civil rights cases.
